This privacy policy explains what personal data Reaktor collects from you when you sign up for and use Reaktor Education Account and how do we use such data. The processing of data is based on your given consent while registering to Reaktor Education.

1. Data controller

The data controller regarding the data you provide upon signing up for the course is:

We may also disclose certain data to our partners who provide courses together with us in Reaktor Education (e.g. disclosure of data on participation in courses to the universities for the purpose of granting ECTS credits and transfer of participation data to the partners of the project European Digital Academy and to the European Commission, which funds the project, to manage the project activities). Such partners shall be data controllers in their respective roles regarding such data.

2. Categories of personal data and purposes of processing the personal data

When you sign up for Reaktor Education we ask you to provide us with the following information:

Your name
Password
Email
Country of origin
Language
Identification details (e.g. student number)
Details on participation in different courses to the extent necessary to manage courses and activities with our partners (e.g. registration of Digital Skillup attendees for managing the activities of the European Digital Academy project).

When you use the platform and attend courses we also collect data on tasks and exercises related to the courses available in Reaktor Education.

We also compile statistics and analytics data on the use of Reaktor Education and participation in the courses. These are aggregated data.

We will store your data as long as necessary for the purpose of maintaining your Reaktor Education account and carrying out our tasks related to the operation of the platform.

As for the data collected for users registering for the courses developed within the European Digital Academy project (Digital Skill Up courses: Digital Revolution, Emerging Technologies, Cybersecurity), these data will be retained for 5 years from the end of the project and reporting activities.

We assess the accuracy and necessity of data collected in context of the platform on a regular basis. You may ask us to delete your account and personal data at any time. If you wish for your account to be deleted and your data to be removed, please check section 8 below for instructions.

3. Provision of data to third parties

We use the above described information in order to provide and maintain Reaktor Education, send notifications regarding Reaktor Education (e.g. status messages), process applications to the courses, manage participation in the courses and confirm the completion of the courses.

We also share aggregate statistical data on courses provided in Reaktor Education with our partners.

In addition, as regards certain courses organised jointly with another organisation we may also share your data described above in Section 2 with such other partners operating as independent data controllers. These partners include:

Consortium partners of the European Digital Academy project (Digital SkillUp website), experts contracted by one or more organisations part of the network and the European Commission, for the purposes of managing the courses created within this initiative and the activities of the project, as well for evaluation activities and reporting obligations.

If you wish to have credits from your own university who is organising the course with us, we can also share your data with such university to the extent this is necessary for such credits.

Otherwise, we use your data only for the above described purposes. We do not share your data with any other parties than such employees or subcontractors of Reaktor's group companies who need to access such data to provide and maintain Reaktor Education or perform tasks related to Reaktor Education.

4. Requests regarding the data

You have the right to request accessing, erasing and correcting your personal data processed by Reaktor as well as send us any other requests based on the applicable laws such as request restriction of processing the data. Further, you may prohibit us from using your data at any time. Please send any requests concerning your data to education@reaktor.com.

6. Analytics and third party tools

We use Twilio SendGrip for general email messages concerning registration, password update, course progress and completion. You can opt-in for these emails in the registration.

We use Crisp to consolidate our support requests and make sure no student is left without help. We additionally store support articles in Crisp as well as sending some of our personalized system messaging with the help of Crisp.

We also use Adyen as a payment processor for certificates issued for passing a paid course.

We use the following third party service providers to provide analytics for Reaktor Education:

Google Tag Manager — We use Google Tag Manager to manage our analytics platforms.

Google Analytics — We use Google Analytics to collect information about how users behave on our courses and platform. We use the information to compile reports and to help us improve the site. These cookies collect the number of visitors to the website, where visitors have come to the website from and the pages they visited. Facebook Pixel — We use Facebook Pixel to collect information about how users behave on our courses and platform. We use the information to make sure we reach the right people when we promote our courses.

Hotjar — We use Hotjar to validate that our website design and user experience are performing as intended.

Google Data Studio — we use Google Data Studio to help us improve the site by structuring it in more accessible manner and we might share these reports and data included within them with our partner universities.

Heroku EU — We use it to host the courses and store data. Everything is stored safely in Heroku’s servers within the EU.

Redash — We use it to show general, anonymous data of course participants and progress.

Amazon Web Services — We use it to host our courses and store course certificates. Data is stored in AWS’s servers within the EU.

The above described service providers are located outside of the EU and EEA. In these cases, we have ensured that the transfer of data complies with the applicable laws by applying appropriate security measures and signing standard contractual clauses based on EU Commission’s applicable decision with the respective service provider.

7. Data security

All data collected by Reaktor is processed confidentially. Access to the data is made available only to a selected group of Reaktor’s employees and is only processed for the above described purposes. The network and equipment of Reaktor have been secured using appropriate measures.

8. Other

Data protection laws are supervised in Finland by the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman. If you wish to lodge a complaint regarding processing of personal data or if you have other questions belonging to the jurisdiction of the Data Protection Ombudsman, you may contact the Data Protection Ombudsman’s office at the following addresses:

9. Account deletion

If you want to delete your account, please do the following steps:

Log into your account in any of the participating Reaktor Education courses.
Go to your profile view and request an account removal there
