This privacy policy explains what personal data Reaktor collects on you when you sign up for and use Reaktor Education Account and how do we use such data.

The data controller regarding the data you provide upon signing up for the course is:

We may also disclose certain data to our partners who provide courses together with us in Reaktor Education (e.g. disclosure of data on participation in courses to the universities for the purpose of granting ECTS credits). Such partners shall be data controllers in their respective roles regarding such data.

2. Categories of personal data and purposes of processing the personal data

When you sign up for Reaktor Education we ask you to provide us with the following information:

Your name
Country of origin
Student number

When you use the platform and attend courses we also collect data on tasks and excercises related to the courses available in Reaktor Education.

We also compile statistics and analytics data on the use of Reaktor Education and participation in the courses.

We will store your data as long as necessary for the purpose of maintaining your Reaktor Education account and carrying out our tasks related to the operation of the platform. We assess the accuracy and necessity of data collected in context of the platform on a regular basis. You may ask us to delete your account and personal data at any time. If you wish for your account to be deleted and your data to be removed, please check section 9 below for instructions.

3. Provision of data to third parties

We use the above described information in order to provide and maintain Reaktor Education, send notifications regarding Reaktor Education (e.g. status messages), process applications to the courses, manage participation in the courses and confirm the completion of the courses.

We also share statistical data on courses provided in Reaktor Education with our partners.

If you wish to have credits from your own university who is organising the course with us, we can also share your data with such university to the extent this is necessary for such credits.

Otherwise, we use your data only for the above described purposes. We do not share your data with any other parties than Reaktor’s group companies which need to access such data to provide and maintain Reaktor Education.

4. Requests regarding the data

You have the right to request accessing, erasing and correcting your personal data processed by Reaktor as well as send us any other requests based on the applicable laws such as request restriction of processing the data. 5. Transfer of data outside EEA

Some of the data we collect is stored by MailChimp, a U.S. based email marketing platform. Therefore, data may be transferred outside of the EEA to the U.S. as required by the fulfillment of application processing. Reaktor takes measures to ensure that the transfer of data complies with the applicable laws. Further, MailChimp is a member of the U.S. Privacy Shield arrangement. We use Reddit as our provider for our online course chat community. It enables self-guided reinforcement of learnings from the course by sharing in a community of student peers. Students use it to start study groups and community chats to talk about course problems, learnings, and applications for relevant topics in their daily lives. This service is opt-in only, and for those who do not wish to join, there is no data shared to Reddit. See more from Reddit privacy policy

6. Analytics and third party tools

Google Tag Manager — We use Google Tag Manager to manage our analytics platforms.

Google Analytics — We use Google Analytics to collect information about how users behave on our courses and platform. We use the information to compile reports and to help us improve the site. These cookies collect the number of visitors to the website, where visitors have come to the website from and the pages they visited. Facebook Pixel — We use Facebook Pixel to collect information about how users behave on our courses and platform. We use the information to make sure we reach the right people when we promote our courses.

Hotjar — We use Hotjar to validate that our website design and user experience are performing as intended.

Google Data Studio — we use Google Data Studio to help us improve the site by structuring it in more accessible manner and we might share these reports and data included within them with our partner universities.

Crisp — We use it to consolidate our support requests and make sure no student is left without help. We additionally store support articles in Crisp as well as sending some of our personalized system messaging with the help of Crisp.

7. Data security

All data collected by Reaktor is processed confidentially. Access to the data is made available only to a selected group of Reaktor’s employees and is only processed for the above described purposes. The network and equipment of Reaktor have been secured using appropriate measures.

Data protection laws are supervised in Finland by the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman. Log into your account in any of the participating Reaktor Education courses.
Go to your profile view and request an account removal there
